Your role as an Electronics R&D Assistant
We are seeking a detail-oriented Electronics R&D Assistant to support our Electronics development. This role is well suited for a current or recent Master’s student looking to gain hands-on experience in electronic development projects, particularly within high-power, high-frequency, and low-noise applications.
This is an opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge in practice while developing valuable industry experience. You will work closely with experienced engineers and contribute to ongoing R&D activities.

This is a part-time, hourly position with the potential to develop into a Master’s thesis project.
Responsibilities
Support Novatron’s electronics R&D projects related to experiment control, plasma heating, plasma diagnostics, and instrumentation
Assemble and solder electronic prototypes
Evaluate components and concepts
Select components and create schematic symbols and footprints in Altium
Lead smaller R&D initiatives end-to-end — from concept and design through prototyping, testing, debugging, and documentation
Ensure compliance with established protocols, safety standards, and best engineering practices
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
We believe you bring a combination of the following qualifications and competencies:
Core qualifications
Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a Master’s program in Engineering Physics, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field
Strong attention to detail and well-developed organizational skills
Ability to follow technical procedures with accuracy and consistency
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team
Basic familiarity with electronics design tools and workflows
Hands-on experience with soldering and general electronics lab work
Preferred qualifications
Experience with SMD PCB design and prototyping
Practical experience in PCB assembly, soldering, and testing
Familiarity with Altium Designer
